Sensorless MRAS control of emerging doubly‐fed reluctance wind generators

A new model reference adaptive system based estimation technique for vector control of real and reactive power a brushless doubly fed reluctance generator without shaft position sensor is proposed. The rotor speed being precisely observed in closed-loop manner by eliminating the error between measured estimated inverter-fed (secondary) winding current angles stationary frame. Contrary to existing observer designs reported literature, entirely parameter-free only utilises direct measurements secondary currents. Furthermore, estimates coming from are obtained using voltages currents grid-connected (primary) winding, which has provided prospects much higher accuracy superior overall performance. realistic simulations, preliminary experimental results, accompanying parameter sensitivity studies have shown great controller potential typical operating conditions variable wind turbines with maximum point tracking.
